Tucson Mementos and Memorabilia at Joel Valdez Main Library


The Joel Valdez Main Library's exhibit of Tucson Mementos and Memorabilia continues through August 31.

232nd Birthday Flag Ceremony at the Presidio Aug. 20


Representatives of the Tohono O'odham Nation participated in a ceremony raising five flags over the Presidio de San Agustin del Tucson. American, Spanish, Mexican, Confederate, State of Arizona flags were presented, as well as the flags of the Tohono O’odham and Pascua Yaqui nations. Also among the banners was a replica of the 28-star American flag brought by the Mormon Battalion and flown briefly over Tucson on December 16, 1846. Many in attendance wore period dress from the era in which the Presidio was active.

Kids Celebrate at the Children's Museum Aug. 19


Kids who visited the Tucson Children's Museum Aug. 19 celebrated Tucson's Birthday by making birthday cards and decorating cookies. Admission to the museum was free, too!

Bear Essentials News at Golf 'n Stuff Aug. 19


Bear Essential News' Birthday Celebration for Tucson was at Golf-N-Stuff and was attended by many happy and appreciative families. Family fun was had by all with free golf, King Putt, Boomer Bear and loads of yummy birthday cake and prizes.
