Cele Peterson always believed that especially good things would come of babies who shared a birth date with the presidio. One of the least known aspects of Tucson's Birthday is actually one of her favorites: Each baby born on August 20 receives a certificate with a reproduction of the proclamation of the presidio, and a translation of it, along with the baby's name.
Dave and Norma Fisher delivered 41 certificates for babies born in Tucson hospitals and birthing centers on August 20, 2010. We celebrate them all!
